SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China National Chemical Engineering Co (CNCEC), its subsidiary China Chengda Engineering and Sichuan Petrochemical have been granted environmental approval for a joint venture 1m tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Nanchong in Sichuan, local authorities said on Thursday.
The Nanchong Environmental Protection Bureau announced on Thursday it has given the plant the green light following an environmental impact assessment on the project.
The companies will invest yuan (CNY) 4.2bn ($666m) in the project, the bureau said in statement.
Construction on the plant is expected to take 30 months, according to an earlier ICIS report.
