HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based Dow Chemical will reveal the site of its new cracker in April, the company's chief executive said on Thursday.
“We plan to build a new ethane cracker, and we'll announce that here in April where it will be located,” said Andrew Liveris, Dow chief executive. He made his comments during the IHS CERAWeek energy conference.
“That's the first one we'll be building here in over a decade,” he said.
In February, Dow said its new ethane cracker will be a brownfield project, and it would most likely build it in Texas.
At the time, Dow said it was planning to start operating the ethane cracker in 2016-2017.
IHS CERAWeek ends on Friday.
