HOUSTON (ICIS)--Shell reported emissions from its Deer Park olefins complex in Texas during the weekend as a result of a power outage, the producer said in a regulatory filing made available on Monday.
The power outage occurred late Friday, Shell said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Shell also filed a report on Saturday, citing possible flaring from Deer Park as a result of the unit's start-up process.
A Shell spokesperson on Monday declined to comment on the operational status of the cracker, but a market participant said the unit had resumed operations.
The company has 835,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity in Deer Park.
