HOUSTON (ICIS)--BP’s Texas City refinery near Houston will begin restart procedures for an ultracracker than had been down for maintenance, the company said on Wednesday in a regulatory filing.
The unit’s restart would take place from Wednesday through Saturday, BP said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The company did not say how long the ultracracker had been down.
In addition, an ultraformer at the refinery had begun restart procedures on Tuesday and is expected to be on line by Friday.
An ultraformer produces high-octane blending components for gasoline in addition to aromatics.
