US propylene inventories drop 0.8% to 4.326m bbl

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene inventories fell by 0.8% last week along with a drop in operating rates at US refineries, Energy Information Administration (EIA) figures showed on Wednesday.

Propylene inventories were at 4.326m bbl in the week ended 9 March, down from 4.363m bbl a week earlier, the government said.

Meanwhile, US refineries operated at 82.7% of capacity, down from 83.9% in the week that ended on 2 March, EIA showed.

Refinery-grade propylene (RGP) for March was bid on Wednesday at 66 cents/lb ($1,455/tonne, €1,106/tonne) with no offers. RGP for March traded last week at 67.50-69.50 cents/lb.

EIA figures refer to non-fuel refinery-sourced propylene.
