ROTTERDAM (ICIS)--Ethanol industry body ePURE expects a ruling in July regarding the EU investigation into allegations that the US dumped subsidised ethanol in Europe, an official with the group said on Wednesday.

The EU started the investigation in November, said Rob Vierhout, ePure secretary general.

He made his comments at the World Biofuels Markets Conference in Rotterdam.

If the complaint against the US is upheld, it is possible that levies could be applied to US material for up to five years, which could pressure prices for European fuel ethanol.

However, some market participants say that any levies will be strongly contested by the US ethanol industry.
