BRISBANE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Daesan MMA plans to restart its 90,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Yeosu on 28 March, a company source said on Thursday.

The MMA plant was shut on 13 March for a catalyst change, the source said.

The company’s downstream polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) plant with a 50,000 tonne/year capacity will be shut from 18-22 April for regular maintenance, the source said.

Daesan MMA is a joint venture between Japan’s Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) and South Korea’s Honam Petrochemical.
