Sumitomo Chemical, Nufarm begin new distribution arrangements

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical and Australia-based crop-protection firm Nufarm have begun new distribution arrangements in Canada, Hungary, Romania and Ukraine, the two firms said on Monday.

In Canada, Nufarm Agriculture has become a distributor for crop protection and specialty products of US-based Valent USA and Valent BioSciences, they said in a statement.

Valent and Valent BioSciences are subsidiaries of Sumitomo Chemical.

In Hungary, Romania and Ukraine, Nufarm’s local group companies has also become a distributor for Sumitomo Chemical’s insecticide products including esfenvalerate and pyriproxyfen, according to the statement.

“Both companies continue to assess additional opportunities for cooperation,” it added.

Financial details of the distribution arrangements were not stated.
