SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shenyang Wax Paraffin is planning to shut down its 80,000 tonne/year crude acrylic acid and a 80,000 tonne/year downstream butyl acrylate (butyl-A) plant at Shenyang in Liaoning province on 1 April, a company source said on Tuesday.

The plant will be taken off line for 20-days for scheduled maintenance.

The shutdown is likely to result in a loss of 6,000-7,000 tonnes of butyl-A, the source added.

The production loss is likely to cause tight supply of butyl-A in north China market in the first half of April, an industry source said.

Shenyang Wax Paraffin is a key acrylic acid and acrylate ester producer in northeast China.
