SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s ENN Energy and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) announced on Wednesday they have agreed to extend the long stop date in despatch of circular to 15 May 2012, in relation to the acquisition of China Gas.

In addition, ENN Energy announced it will postpone the despatch of the shareholders circular, with respect to the transaction, to a date no later than 30 April, according to a statement to the Hong Kong Exchange.

The two companies are extending the long stop date because the required approvals are expected to remain pending until the originally scheduled date on 31 March.

Sinopec and ENN Energy submitted their applications to Chinese government bodies to seek approval for the acquisition of China Gas earlier this month.
