SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jingmen Petrochemical is planning to shut its 100,000 tonne/year Group II base oil plant at Jingmen in Hubei for a month from 1 April because of a feedstock shortage, a company source said on Wednesday.

The company’s 1.5m tonne/year crude distillation unit (CDU), which supplies feedstock to the base oil plant, will be taken off line on 1 April for a month of maintenance,  according to the source.

Jingmen Petrochemical,a subsidiary of Sinopec, will lower the operating rate at its 200,000 tonne/year Group I base oil plant at the same site for the same reason, the source said without specifying further.
