SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indonesia’s Sulfindo Adiusaha is currently running its 350,000 tonnes/year ethylene dichloride (EDC) plant at Merak at around 95% of capacity, after completing debottlenecking works at the end of last week, a company source said on Thursday.

The producer has been conducting the debottlenecking exercise since last year to ramp up its EDC capacity by an additional 50,000 tonne/year from the initial capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year.

Sulfindo Adiusaha has an integrated chlor-alkali and vinyl production complex at its site at Merak in west Java.

The company operates an 80,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) unit, a 100,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) line and a 262,000 dry metric tonne (dmt)/year caustic soda facility at the site.
