SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s TK Chemical is planning to shut down one of its two continuous polymer (CP) units in April for a week-long maintenance, a source close to the company said on Friday.

“PET bottle-grade resin output will be affected as a result,” said the source. Out put loss is estimated to be around 2,000 tonnes.

Meanwhile, other lines will be running as per normal, the source added.

TK Chemical’s PET bottle chip plant at Gumi, located near the South Korean port of Busan, has three lines in total and an annual capacity of close to 280,000 tonnes of PET bottle chips.
