Russia's Jan-Feb mineral fertilizers output falls by 9.7%

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia’s overall production of mineral fertilizers in the first two months of 2012 fell by 9.7% year on year, the Russian statistics agency Rosstat said on Friday.

In January-February 2012, the country's total output of mineral fertilizers was down to 2.8m tonnes, according to the agency.

The country’s output of nitrogen fertilizers during the period was down by 2.6% year on year to 1.38m tonnes, while potash production dropped 23% to 911,000 tonnes, it said.

Ammonia production was 7.8% down year on year at 2.24m tonnes during the January-February period, Rosstat added.
