HOUSTON (ICIS)--Marathon Petroleum’s Garyville refinery in Louisiana experienced a unit upset on Thursday, the company said in an environmental report on Friday.

The refinery has a capacity of 464,000 bbl/day, making it one of the top five largest US refineries.

There were emissions of hydrogen sulphide and sulphur dioxide, the filing with the National Response Center said.

Marathon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
