SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Inner Mongolia Boyuan Lianhe Chemical shut its 600,000 tonne/year methanol unit at Erdos in Inner Mongolia Province on Monday for 12 days of maintenance, a company official said.

“The company is running its 400,000 tonne/year No 1 methanol unit at the same site normally,” the source said.

The reduction in methanol supply in the domestic market is not expected to significantly affect the domestic market because of the poor demand, a market player said.

Inner Mongolia Boyuan Lianhe Chemical is a subsidiary of Inner Mongolia Yuanxing Energy Company Limited.
