SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhenghe Petrochemical has restarted its fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) at Dongying in Shandong province on 26 March, a company source said on Monday.

The company shut the plant in mid-February because of technical problems.

The FCC can produce 108,000 tonnes/year of propylene, the source said.

A portion of the propylene produced will be sold on 29-30 March after the unit operates at “normal” rates.

The remainder of the output will be supplied to Zhenghe Petrochemical’s 40,000 tonne/year acrylic acid (AA) unit, which the company will restart soon, the source added without elaborating further.
