HOUSTON (ICIS)--A US butadiene (BD) producer has nominated an April contract price at an increase of 6.9%, sources said on Tuesday.
The producer nominated an April price of $1.55/lb ($3,417/tonne, €2,563/tonne), up by 10 cents/lb from the March price.
Three US producers settled their March price at $1.45/lb FOB USG (free on board out of the US Gulf), while the fourth settled at $1.55/lb.
For April, one producer has nominated a price of $1.65/lb, and another has nominated a price of $1.60/lb. One more nomination for April BD is expected.
Major US BD producers include ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Shell Chemical and TPC Group.
Major US BD buyers include Ashland, Firestone Polymers, Invista, LANXESS, Michelin and Negromex.
