SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) plans to shut its 25,000 tonne/year polyacetals (POM) plant at Chiayi in southwestern Taiwan in June and December for maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

Each turnaround is estimated to last around two weeks, the source said.

Currently, the company is waiting for spare parts used for the maintenance process to arrive, the source added.

FPC also operates a 20,000 tonne/year POM plant at Jiayi, China.

POM’s key application sectors are automobiles and in electronics.
