SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwanese maleic anhydride (MA) producer Tasco Chemical is planning to restart its 25,000 tonne/year plant at Lin Yuan in Kaohsiung on Friday after completing its maintenance schedule, a company source said on Thursday.
The company had shut its MA plant in the middle of March for maintenance, the source added.
As a result of the shutdown, Tasco ceased offering spot MA cargoes since the start of March in order to build up its inventory levels, said the source.
Tasco will resume offering MA cargoes in the spot market from the start of next week, said the source.
Other MA producers in the region include Taiwan’s UPC Technology and Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TPCC), South Korea’s Yongsan Chemicals, Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical and Nippon Shokubai as well as Indonesia’s Justus Sakti Raya.
