LONDON (ICIS)--Fire investigators are looking into an extensive blaze that broke out within the Synthesia chemical company complex in the Czech Republic, causing damage so far estimated at up to koruna (Kc) 25m ($1.4m, €1.0m), the firm said on Thursday.

Although there were instances of exploding oil, there were no injuries, fatalities or poisonous emissions into the surrounding locality, but two oil storage halls were completely destroyed, it added.
The fire did not threaten the explosives production premises of the Explosia company, which produces the Semtex plastic explosive and is also located within the Synthesia complex, it added.
Synthesia produces nitrocellulose, pigments, dyes and organics. It is wholly owned by the Czech Republic-based Agrofert agrochemical and foodstuffs group.
