S Korea’s LG Chem on track to start up Yeosu crude acrylic acid line

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem is on schedule to start up a crude acrylic acid (AA) line in Yeosu in early June, a company source said on Friday.

The new line will have a nameplate capacity of 160,000 tonnes/year, the source added.

LG Chem currently operates three crude AA lines with a total production capacity of 193,000 tonnes/year.

Earlier in February, the company confirmed its turnaround schedule for the three crude AA lines at the same site for 2012.
