China's Yongjin Chemical achieves on-spec production at MEG unit

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Henan Yongjin Chemical has achieved on-spec production at its 200,000 tonne/year coal-based monoethylene glycol (MEG) unit at Xinxiang city in Henan province on 29 March, a company source said on Friday.

The company finished building the unit at the end of 2011, according to the source.

Yongjin Chemical is expected to start trail runs at three other 200,000 tonne/year MEG units - located at Yongcheng, Puyang and Anyang, all in Henan province - in 2012, the source said.

The company plans to have a fifth 200,000 tonne/year MEG unit at Luoyang in Henan province, added the source who did not provide further details on this unit.

Financial details of all the units were not immediately available.

Yongjin Chemical is a joint venture between Tongliao Jinmei Chemical and Henan Coal Chemical Group, with each holding a 50% stake in the company.
