SAN ANTONIO, Texas (ICIS)--A major North American butanediol (BDO) consumer said on Sunday that it does not expect to see any increase over 5 cents/lb ($110/tonne, €83/tonne) for second-quarter contracts.
The consumer made the comments on the sidelines of the International Petrochemical Conference (IPC).
BDO producers proposed increases of 7-10 cents/lb.
First-quarter BDO contracts were settled at 149-167 cents/lb DEL (delivered).
Full second-quarter BDO settlements are expected in early April.
Hosted by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), the IPC continues through Tuesday.
