HOUSTON (ICIS)--Braskem has named Fernando Musa as CEO of Braskem America, the Brazilian petrochemicals major said on Monday.

Musa will be based in Philadelphia. In addition to his position as CEO of Braskem America, Musa will oversee Braskem's European operations, Braskem said.

Musa most recently served as Braskem’s vice president of planning, information technology and purchasing. Before that, he was responsible for the integration of Quattor, a Brazilian chemical and petrochemical company Braskem acquired in 2010.

Musa succeeds Luiz de Mendonca, who was recently appointed CEO of ETH Bioenergia. Before his appointment as CEO of Braskem America in early 2011,
