LONDON (ICIS)--Neither Russia-based petrochemical producer Sibur nor any of its subsidiaries are in negotiations to acquire Croatian mineral fertilizer producer Petrokemija, Sibur said on Tuesday.

The company’s press service stated Sibur’s position following 30 March media briefings from Croatian government sources that the company might be interested in placing a bid should a privatisation of Croatia’s 50.63% stake in Petrokemija take place.

Croatian economy minister and deputy prime minister Radimir Cacic recently met representatives of major Russian companies in Moscow during a trip in which he gauged interest in several possible privatisations.

Petrokemija has an overall solid and liquid fertilizer capacity of 1.5m tonnes/year.
