Borouge to restart Abu Dhabi PP line next week after outage

DUBAI (ICIS)--United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Borouge plans to restart its polypropylene (PP) line at Ruwais in Abu Dhabi next week, after the line was shut last week because of technical issues, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
The PP line has a production output of close to 400,000 tonnes/year, the source said at the sidelines of the third GPCA (Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association) Plastics Summit in Dubai.
The source did not mention details on the outage.
Company officials could not be immediately reached for comment.
The second PP line at the site, which has a similar production output, is running at full capacity, he said.
The total nameplate capacity of the two PP facilities is 860,000 tonnes/year, he added.
"Inventories are really low, but our customers are mostly unaffected," the source said.
The GPCA Plastics Summit runs through Thursday.
