SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhongjia Huachen Energy has achieved on-spec production at its new 120,000 tonne/year expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant at Zhejiang in the first half of this week, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant is expected to be started up in the middle of April, the source added.

The company originally planned to bring the plant on stream in February. However, this was delayed because of weak downstream demand, the source said, adding that the domestic EPS market is likely to recover in April.

Zhongjia Huachen Energy deals with chemical manufacturing, storage and trading.
