Brazil's Petrobras to charter chem tankers for $14,000-15,000/day

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazil oil major Petrobras has chartered six chemical/product tankers for $14,000-15,000/day ($10,640-€11,400/day) a shipping publication said on Thursday.

Tanker Operator said Petrobras took six vessels on time charters owned by Tsakos Energy Navigations’(TEN), according to brokerage reports.

One of the ships chartered at the higher daily rate for five years - the 53,100 deadweight tonnes (dwt) “Ajax.”

The other five vessels carried the lower daily rate, two for two years - the 39,400 dwt “Andromeda” and 53,100 dwt “Artemis.” Three ships carried three-year charters - the 45,900 dwt “Arcadia 1”,  the 47,500 dwt “SL Singapore” and the 47,200 dwt “Ludovica.”
