HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethylene production in February totalled 4.084bn lb (1.85m tonnes), a 2% increase from 3.996bn lb produced in the same month in 2011, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Thursday.
However, ethylene output in February fell by 10% compared with 4.543bn lb in January, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.
Measured on a daily rate, February ethylene production was down by 4% compared with January.
US crackers operated at 88.9% of capacity in February. The figure is down from 92.5% in January and 90.2 % in February 2011, the report showed.
