HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butadiene (BD) production in February totalled 214m lb (97,069 tonnes), a 17% drop from 258m lb produced in the same month in 2011, consulting firm Jacobs Consultancy said on Thursday.
BD production in February also fell by 12% compared with 244m lb produced in January, the group said in its monthly Hodson report.
Measured on a daily rate, February BD production was down by 6% compared with January.
US crackers operated at 88.9% of capacity in February. The figure is down from 92.5% in January and 90.2 % in February 2011, the report showed.
