SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Oriental Petrochemical on 30 March restarted its 400,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Kuan Yin in Taoyuan, a company source said on Friday.
The company had planned to restart the plant a week earlier following a planned turnaround but had to delay the start up because of mechanical issues and unfavourable market conditions amid high feedstock paraxylene (PX) costs, the source added.
The plant was shut on 4 March this year for maintenance.
