SINGPAORE (ICIS)--China’s Guizhou Chitianhua on 6 April shut its 630,000 tonne/year urea plant at Chishui in Guizhou province because of a shortage of natural gas feedstock in the country’s southwest, the company said on Friday.

The shutdown coincides with the company’s planned two-month turnaround for the unit, the company said in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Guizhou Chitianhua’s 300,000 tonne/year ammonia plant at the same site was also shut on 6 April, it added without further elaborating.
