Japan's Mitsui shuts IPA plant for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals has shut its 33,000 tonne/year isopropanol (IPA) facility in Osaka on 6 April for about two weeks of maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The producer will suspend exports this month as a result of the turnaround but this is unlikely to have any impact on the IPA market.

A number of Asian facilities have cut production as a result of weak margins and poor Chinese demand.
