SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Wudi Xinyue Chemical plans to start up a 120,000 tonne/year propylene oxide (PO) unit at Binzhou in Shandong province this month, a company source said on Monday.

The company plans to bring the line on stream before 20 April, the source added.

Wudi Xinyue runs an 80,000 tonne/year PO line at the site which is operating at full capacity, the source added.

Its 100,000 tonne/year line at the same site has been under maintenance since 16 March, said the source.

According to market sources, Wudi Xinyue Chemical converted this unit to produce epichlorohydrin (ECH) at the end of March, but this has not been confirmed by the company.
