SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s SK Networks PS (Shantou) has shut one of its 50,000 tonne/year general purpose polystyrene (GPPS) lines in Guangdong province on 9 April because of a technical issue, a company source said on Tuesday.

The source did not specify what the issue was or say when the company will restart the line.

The company’s 150,000 tonne/year PS facility at the same site includes another 50,000 tonne/year GPPS line and a 50,000 tonne/year high impact polystyrene (HIPS) line, the source said.

The source said these two lines have not been affected by the shutdown and that they are operating at 100% of capacity.
