SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Corp (ZRCC) shut down its 165,000  tonne/year butadiene (BD) unit at Ningbo in Zhejiang on 10 April for regular maintenance, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The turnaround will last 30 days, the source added.

The company initially scheduled to shut the plant on 15 April, according to the previous source.

The shutdown at the plant is likely to tighten BD supply in domestic market, a market player said.

The spot BD have been in stable price level recently with current price were at yuan (CNY) 26,000/tonne ($4,120/tonne) on 9 April, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.

ZRCC is a key BD producer in China.
