Sinopec's Maoming Petrochemical shuts LDPE plant in Guangdong

 SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical on 11 April shut its 250,000 tonne/year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) line at the firm’s Maoming plant in Guangdong province after encountering technical difficulties, a company source said.

“We encountered technical snags at the plant…It may be restarted after two days,” the source said without elaborating further.

Meanwhile, the company plans to shut another 120,000 tonne/year LDPE line at the same site for scheduled maintenance on 13-27 April, the source added.
