Malaysia's Titan Chemicals to shut BD plant on 23 April for repairs

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s Titan Chemicals will shut down its 100,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) plant at Pasir Gudang on 23 April for repairs because of mechanical problems, a company source said on Thursday.
“We will shut down the BD unit for 10 days or more, if need be,” the source added.
The unplanned shutdown may result in a production loss of about 3,000 tonnes, according to the source.
Titan Chemicals is a wholly owned subsidiary of South Korean cracker operator, Honam Petrochemical.
