LONDON (ICIS)--European April dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) reference prices fell on Friday by €34/tonne ($45/tonne) to €1,046-1,087/tonne, in line with upstream paraxylene (PX) and methanol, according to an ICIS assessment.

The European April PX contract settled at €1,225/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), down by €43/tonne, after falls in the dominant Asia market.

The second-quarter contract price for methanol, a secondary feedstock for DMT, is €340/tonne FOB (free on board) Rotterdam, up by €20/tonne from the first quarter.

The DMT prices were assessed on a free delivered northwest Europe basis.
