US Dow Chemical reports flaring from Texas cracker

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based Dow Chemical reported flaring from its Freeport 7 cracker in Texas, citing a process upset in a public filing on Friday.

"The process was immediately stabilised and flaring was stopped," the company said in the filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

The 612,000 tonne/year unit was in operation on Friday, a spokesperson said, adding that the process upset occurred on Thursday.
