China's Shiyou Chemical eyes on-spec phenol/acetone at Yangzhou unit

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shiyou Chemical, a subsidiary of Kingboard Chemical Holdings, aims to achieve on-spec production at its new 320,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone plant at Yangzhou in Jiangsu province at the end of April, a company source said on Monday.

The plant has a capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 120,000 tonnes/year of acetone, according to the source.

The producer conducted trial runs at the plant in March, the source said, adding that the schedule for its start-up depends on the results of the trials.

Kingboard Chemical operates a 200,000 tonne/year phenol/acetone plant at Huizhou in Guangdong province.
