HOUSTON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical chief executive Andrew Liveris will give an update on the company's operations in Freeport, Texas, on Thursday, the company said.
Dow Chemical did not provide any details about the update.
However, Liveris's visit follows earlier announcements in which he discussed the company's plans for a new ethane cracker.
During a US energy conference in March, Liveris said the company would reveal the site of its new cracker in April.
In February, Dow said its ethane cracker will be a brownfield project, and it would most likely build it in Texas.
At the time, Dow said it was planning to start operating the ethane cracker in 2016-2017.
Dow did not immediately return a call seeking comment about Liveris's announcement in Freeport.
