MEDELLIN, Colombia (ICIS)--Huntsman delayed maintenance on ethylene oxide (EO) and ethylene glycol (EG) production at its Port Neches plant in Texas until September, a source familiar with operations said on Monday.
The maintenance shutdown will happen in September to coincide with maintenance on third-party pipelines coming into the site, the source said.
Market players said Huntsman’s maintenance had originally been planned for May.
US industrial-grade ethylene glycol (EGI) is assessed at 52-55 cents/lb for March contract pricing, according to ICIS Pricing.
Major EG producers in the US include LyondellBasell, Huntsman, MEGlobal, Old World, SABIC and Shell.
