MEDELLIN, Colombia (ICIS)--Ecuador’s largest refinery is expected to restart on Tuesday after going off line last week because of an electrical fault, a source said.

Petroecuador’s 110,000 bbl/day Esmeraldas refinery was expected to be back on line on Sunday, but there was a delay in the restart process, the source said.

A 20-minute electrical outage caused all operating units to shut down last week, the state-run oil company said at the time.

Ecuador has struggled with rising fuel and petrochemical imports as a result of domestic refining capacity.
