SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s PETRONAS Chemicals Group plans to conduct maintenance at its ethylene oxide (EO)/ethylene glycol (EG) plant in early May, a company source said on Wednesday.

The 365,000 tonnes/year EO/EG plant, located at Kerteh in Terengganu, will be shut for two weeks for planned maintenance, the source said.

A downstream 75,000 tonne/year ethanolamines unit, a derivative of EO, will also be shut during the same period.

The shutdown will not affect supply to its contracted customers, the source said.
