SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Juhua Group Corp Polyamide Fibre Factory has completed expanding its 25,000 tonne/year caprolactam (capro) line in Quzhou, Zhejiang, and plans to start up the line on 25 April, a company source said on Wednesday.

The expanded line, which was shut down in the middle of February, will have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year, the source said.

When the line comes on stream, it will raise China’s capro capacity to 715,000 tonnes/year, added the source.

In addition, Shandong Haili Chemical Industry started up a 100,000 tonne/year capro line in Shandong province at the end of March, said a source from the company without providing a specific date.

Juhua and Shandong Haili are two of the four capro producers in China aside from DSM Nanjing and Sinopec.
