SHANGHAI (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals plans to build a 300,000 tonne/year metallocene linear low density polyethylene (MLLDPE) plant in Singapore in 2015, Masaya Yamada, director of the company’s packaging department, said on Wednesday.
The plant will produce high-end food packaging material, but other details of the new plant are expected to be released in 2014, he said at the sidelines of the four-day Chinaplas exhibition.
The company has a 260,000 tonne/year MLLDPE unit in Japan.
The 2012 Chinaplas exhibition runs from 18-21 April in Shanghai, China.
