SHANGHAI (ICIS)--Chinese firm Ding Zing Chemical’s thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) sales in China accounted for about 30% of its global sales in 2011, a company source said on late Wednesday at the Chinaplas 2012 exhibition in Shanghai.

The company’s TPU sales in China almost doubled in 2011 from 2010, the source added.

The company’s domestic sales are expected to increase in the future, although competition will become fiercer as the domestic TPU market develops, he said, without elaborating further.

Ding Zing Chemical has a TPU plant at Kaohsiung in Taiwan, and three general agents in Shanghai, Qingdao and Dongguan in China. The source declined to provide the capacity of the plant.

Chinaplas 2012, an international exhibition covering the plastics and rubber industries, runs from 18-21 April.
