SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Zibo Huaxing Additives is developing new products to ensure a sufficient supply of additives used in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) applications in the country, a company source said late on Wednesday.

The company has two PVC additives plants and is the first in China to produce this product, the source said on the sidelines of Chinaplas 2012.

The plants have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year and 10,000 tonnes/year each and are located at Zibo in Shandong province.

Huaxing Additives sells its output to PVC producers in China.

The supply of PVC additives in China was about 30,000 tonnes/year in 2011, the source said.

PVC additives are used in various engineering plastics applications such as the manufacture of washing machines and automobiles.

The four-day Chinaplas exhibition in Shanghai ends on 21 April.
